While in europe everybody seems to look for "the even thinner, even more invisible, even more uncoloured" frame, Japan is what is always was: A trendsetter with the eye on unusual products and ideas.
So we decided to create a special edition for our customers in Japan as we got many inquiries from there. Japanese people love original stuff...the goal was to create a unique style which is crazy enough for Japan (this is not so easy :-)). Pictures will be available in a couple of weeks!
This new style called "Orochi" will be launched on SLIT show begin of April. So guys; I fou want to go really crazy, my suggestion is: leave Europe, visit Japan!
Just a few sentences about the last MIDO. Last year MIDO management announced that the MIDO show will take place in March instead of May which was a traditional date for MIDO since many years.
We were thinking if we should go and exhibit, but our decision was: no. There are a couple of reasons that created our decision but I want to talk about one of them:
They proudly announced that the show is held together with the fur fashion exhibition! What the hell? Who wears fur?? Everybody knows that animals get killed cruently just for people without taste to show how much money they have....wake up guys, this is disgusting. So we are not supporting this with our money and exhibit just a hall away from the animal-murder show.
I hope the MIDO management will wake up and go back to its roots...a nice eyewear show in a nice month.
Anyway....we visited MIDO on saturday and saw what we expected to see: Empty halls. Obviously not many opticians have time or motivation to buy frames in March....i know the MIDO as a full and good show when it took place in May. But..this gave us time to see some of our buddies there and chat about this and that.

Back from Silmo we had a good time in Paris seeing some good friends and customers. The people were crazy about our new limited edition "Kagiri 3 - the puzzle". A brand new concept was realized: A picture (our pop-art picture with the Miggi frame) was anodized on a 1.5 mm thick aluminium sheet and 48 pairs of temples were cutted directly out of the metal. So the people chose their favourite part of the picture. Every pair of temples looks unique. This project was limited to 48 pairs worldiwde and only for the time of Silmo. Sorry for who hasn't got one....Paris is always worth a trip!
